How it is collected

Only from the two forms above, and only when you fill one in and submit it. There is no account to create, no newsletter, and no survey. Nothing is gathered in the background as you read the site.

What we use it for, and who sees it

We read what you send, and we contact you about it: to ask a follow-up question, or to tell you a student team has taken your problem up. It is seen by the chapter members who run intake and, for a problem that goes forward, by the student team working on it and their faculty or clinical mentor. Nobody else.

Consenting to be contacted is not consent to publication. We will not publish or quote your submission without asking you separately first.

Your choices

Everything here is optional. Not submitting a form means we collect nothing about you. The clinical problem form asks you to tick a consent box before it will send, so nothing is submitted without you agreeing to be contacted. You can ask us to stop contacting you, or to delete what you sent, at any time.

Where it goes, and the services we rely on

A submission is formatted into an email and sent to the chapter officers who review submissions, and a copy is appended to a private spreadsheet that only those officers can open. It is not written to a database, because this site does not have one. It is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone outside this chapter.

Four outside services are involved in that, and no others:

• Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host it processes the technical details of each request, including the IP address it came from, in order to serve the page. This site's own code never reads or stores an IP address.
• Resend delivers the submission email. Your submission passes through it in transit.
• Michigan State University email receives and stores the message once it arrives.
• Google holds the spreadsheet the copy is written to. It is private to the chapter and is not shared or published.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies. It uses Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without collecting personal data, and Vercel Speed Insights, which reports how quickly pages load and respond. Both are anonymous. There are no advertising trackers, no social media embeds, and no third-party fonts or scripts. Everything the site loads comes from this site.

Because the counting is anonymous and cookie-free there is no profile of you to opt out of. If you would rather not be counted at all, a browser content blocker will stop both scripts from loading.

One thing is stored on your device: if you use the light and dark switch in the header, your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so the site opens the way you left it. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing this site's data removes it.

Patient information

This site is not a secure channel for protected health information, and we ask you not to put any into it. Do not include patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, or anything else that could identify a specific person. Describe the problem in general terms instead.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and a submission is encrypted in transit on its way to us. After that it is an email in a mailbox, protected by the account it sits in. That is ordinary email security, which is why the paragraph above asks you to keep identifiable patient information out of it.

How long we keep it

A submission stays in the chapter's mailbox for as long as it is useful to the work: through the cycle the problem is considered for, and the cycle a team spends building on it. The chapter is newly formed and has not run a full cycle yet, so there is no longer-term retention schedule to quote. When one is set it will be published here.

Deleting what you sent

Email worthi78@msu.edu and ask, and we will delete both the message containing your submission and its row in the spreadsheet. You do not have to give a reason.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date below changes too. There is no mailing list to notify, so that date is how to tell: if it is later than the last time you read this, something here is different.
